Cattery Chankiar

Welcome on the site of Cattery Chankiar

We are Cynthia and Michael and lover and breeder of Sacred Birmans and Bengals. We have a small cattery in Den Helder (Netherlands) and are registered at Saintpro (Birmans) and Tica (Bengals).

Why we have chosen these breeds? If you look in the lovely blue eyes of a Birman, then you will know why! And then you have the Bengals with the amazing wild look and fun and crazy behaviour. You always have fun in your home!

At Chankiar, we give priority to health and temperament. To make this possible we test our cats every year on Fiv/ Felv, HCM en PKD. Our kittens grow up in our livingroom. There they will get used to home sounds and our lovely dog.

We specialize ourselfs for the Birmans in the light colours (blue) and tortie patterns. Also we breed on lovely deep blue eyes and nice big collars.

For the bengals we specialize ourselfs in black outlined rosettes on a clear background with golden glitters. The head must have the typical wild Bengal look with small round ears.
